To foster a culture that celebrates Diversity & Inclusion, Anheuser Busch InBev (AB InBev), the world’s leading brewer, has introduced gender affirmation support, gender-neutral anti-harassment, EAP LGBT+ counselling and relocation support policies at its Business Unit here in India. The company remains committed to building an inclusive workplace with equal opportunity at all levels within the organization.
In line with its commitment to cultivate a work environment that is both diverse and inclusive, the company aims to create a community where all colleagues feel respected and empowered to bring their authentic selves to work every day. Reflective of this, is the newly introduced gender affirmation support policy under which employees can reimburse up to 5 lacs for their gender affirming surgery and, avail additional leave up to 45 days for recovery post-surgery.
“Diversity & Inclusion is embedded into how we think, behave and operate. To deliver on our firm and unwavering commitment to meritocracy, an equitable diverse and inclusive culture is essential. The launch of these policies and initiatives reaffirms our commitment to gender equality and reiterate our support to the LGBTQ+ community, internally and across our value chain. As a company, we have an important role to play when it comes to strengthening our communities and building a better, more inclusive and equal world.” says Tanushree Mishra, People Director - India & South East Asia, AB InBev
The overall well-being of its employees is a top priority for the makers of Budweiser, now more than ever. Their anti-harassment and anti-discrimination policy is gender-neutral and covers employees of all races, religions, sexual orientation, gender and gender expression, etc. The policy also ensures that colleagues can thrive in a workplace free of any form of harassment, including unfair discrimination, sexual harassment and sexual misconduct.
To address the emotional needs and mental health of employees and support them in these challenging times, the company has introduced inclusive EAP LGBTQ+ counselling support, through which employees and their families can avail counselling to discuss any unique challenges they might be facing in their personal or professional life, anonymously. To enable new and existing employees’ relocation for business requirements, AB InBev supports movement and settlement of employees’ families. This policy covers same-sex partners, championing an equitable workplace and rooting out discrimination of any kind.
Earlier this year, AB InBev also introduced an unlimited wellness leave, flexible four-week paternity leave, adoption leave for LGBTQ+ colleagues and inclusive insurance for same-sex partners at its India Business Unit.
AB InBev is taking a step towards being one of India’s most inclusive employers by introducing policies that encourage an environment where everyone can thrive. With people its greatest asset, AB InBev is building a company to last for the next 100+ years and beyond, through initiatives that enable and enhance the growth of every individual’s potential.
