PMV Group is one of the largest Malt manufacturers in India, with an overall Malting capacity of 2,00,000 tons per annum. The group owns 3 manufacturing facilities located in the states of Haryana and Uttarakhand, in India. The Group also has an associate company, namely The Malt Company (India) Pvt. Ltd., which is the oldest Malt manufacturing plant in India, and has been in business since the past five decades.
Our Group’s journey dates back to 1970, with the inception of the first malting plant – The Malt Company (India) Pvt. Ltd., which has unparalleled experience in the field of Malting and commands a status among its buyers and suppliers. It is a well-trusted brand among the entire liquor, health foods, confectionery and pharmaceutical industries. The company, besides catering to the needs of the domestic industry, is also exporting its produce to nearly 32 countries all over the world, and is a recognized Star Export House by Government of India. The companies are closely held and owned by the Jains, a reputed business family from Northern India.
State-of-the-art technology, a motivated team and impressive infrastructure have paid dividends. A string of happy customers such as GSK, UB Group, Heineken, AB InBev, Carlsberg, Molson Coors, Mahou, Diageo and so on, stand as proof of the company’s success.
We, at PMV, pride ourselves on the wide variety of products we manufacture, ranging from Liquid Malt Extract, Dried Malt Extract, and Grain Malt from the palest to the darkest, to Speciality Malts, Roasted Malts, Nutritional Powders and much more. There are also several varieties of malts which can be customized according to individual needs of the brewers.
We believe in procuring the best suitable barley for our products from the regions of Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Our speciality malts have garnered widespread attention and acceptance as they are the perfect substitute for the imported German and Belgian malts. With these speciality malts, the beer brewing industry has seen a huge growth in its craft and beer manufacturing sector in the country.
With the changing trends and to meet the growing demand of craft brewers, the Group has started delivering Malt products as per the exact requirements of craft breweries, which were earlier importing Malt for craft beer from overseas. To accomplish this, the Group has a well-equipped research laboratory and in-house brewer support which focuses on the development of new products.
Over the last few years, the PMV team has understood the needs of craft brewers and limitations experienced by them while using base Malts and has accordingly undertaken research to develop the capabilities required to manufacture various speciality Malts such as Lager, Pilsner, Munich, Crystal, Roasted, Wheat and so on and so forth. The Indian craft brewery segment has seen an immense growth over the years and this drives us to innovate and serve the market with best quality malts at prices which are far lower than international ones. With this, we have achieved over 100% growth in the craft brewery requirements in the previous year.
Excelling on Global Footprints
We won the Silver Award in the Global Brewing Supply Awards at the RMI Analytics Conference held in Vienna on 22nd March 2017. This award was presented to us for being the largestIndian Malting company and for being a leading supplier of premium malts to all major Breweries and Distilleries.
For some brewers, PMV is the only approved Indian supplier. In a dynamic environment, the Group’s companies have proven to surpass their competitors, recognising a significant increase in market share.
We also lay special emphasis on the development of varietal barley through a contract farming process – a project that a team of experts have been working on for many years. This helps farmers to adapt to new technologies, thus ensuring higher yields, better productivity and a fair price of their produce.
To take a step forward in this direction, the Group, in collaboration with research, education and extension with Centre and State authorities, is actively working on the following:
- Collaboration with international consultants and local NGO’s
- Expanding the traditional geography of barley produce in the country
- Pioneering with heat pump technology to reduce carbon footprint
- The Group is also invested in caring for the community through its CSR program for a hospital and school.
The Group prides itself on the wide variety of products it manufactures, ranging from Grain Malt from the palest to the darkest, to Speciality Malts, Roasted Malts, Liquid Malt Extract, Dried Malt Extract, and Nutritional Powders and much more
The Personal Touch
Creative Craft Brewers are ones that innovate on specialty beers. During the course of brewing, we work with brewmaster and brewesters, engage in one on one interactions, provide them with samples for testing, and even arrange visits to our manufacturing plant thus enabling them and us to understand the complex malting processes and ascertain the quality and consistency of our manufacturing facility. Usually at such meetings, our own Brewer and the team are present to explain the features and product knowledge to the craft brewers.
Offering a wide range of speciality malts, our business has grown, six-fold in 2016 and is presently growing at 40% year-on-year. This phenomenal growth is also a result of our manufacturing capability of developing speciality malts and keeping the quality consistent in every batch, month after month and year after year. Our core values of being consistent and assuring quality and world class packaging, help us maintain the same standards among our esteemed customers. Other factors like cost effectiveness, scalability and logistical reach facilitate a strong connection with the craft brewing industry across the country.
The Group’s companies actively participate in various trade shows across the country and abroad, enabling us to engage with brewers all over the world and aiding us, the “HOME OF GOOD MALT” in our outreach.
